Ilkka Leppihalme
Ilkka Leppihalme | Partner

Ilkka practices primarily in the areas of EU and Finnish competition law co-heading the firm’s EU & Competition practice. In addition, he represents clients in litigation and arbitration procedures and advises on mergers and acquisitions and various commercial contracts.

His competition law work covers the full spectrum of competition law (merger control, cartel investigations, horizontal and vertical agreements, abuses of dominance, litigation/damages cases, compliance programs and training, public procurement and state aid) across a wide range of industries.

Ilkka has been involved in various leading competition cases, including e.g. the asphalt cartel case and the raw wood cartel case. These cases are so far by far the largest cartel cases ever in Finland. Ilkka was also heavily involved in a recent complex phase II merger control case regarding pay TV markets. He also represents clients in numerous competition law related damages cases.

Ilkka is a regular chairman and speaker at competition law conferences and seminars. He is one of the 10 members of the Competition Law Expert Group of the Finnish Bar Association. Ilkka has taken part (by invitation) in the work of the working group of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy on amendments needed to the Act on Competition Restrictions. He has written the Finland chapters of The International Comparative Legal Guide to: Cartels & Leniency 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, published by Global Legal Group Ltd.
