APPOINTMENTS
Master of Laws, LL.M. (University of Chicago Law School) Johannes Virkkunen has joined LMR in August 2005. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate and contract law and financing.

THE EUROPEAN LEGAL 500 RATES LMR - FOURTH SUCCESSIVE YEAR
THE EUROPEAN LEGAL 500, a leading international publication with regard to evaluating law firms, has in its 2005 edition again given high rankings to Luostarinen Mettälä Räikkönen in most legal practice areas. For the fourth successive year, our firm has been ranked among the top tier Finnish law firms in Banking and Finance. In addition, the firm was highly ranked in our other principal practice areas, such as corporate and commercial law (including M&A), EU and competition law. The evaluations by The European Legal 500 are based primarily on the commentary received from our clients and competitors.

APPOINTMENTS
Master of Laws, LL.M. (College of Europe) Hannu Koskenranta has joined LMR in June 2005. He specialises in EU and Finnish competition law as well as in general EU law. Before joining LMR Hannu has worked in the field of competition law for more than two years in the Brussels office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and for more than a year at Hannes Snellman Attorneys at Law in Helsinki.

LMR RANKED AMONG THE WORLD’S 100 LEADING COMPETITION LAW PRACTICES FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR
GLOBAL COMPETITION REVIEW, one of the world’s leading competition law publications, has in its 2004/5 edition of “The GCR 100” ranked LMR among the 100 leading competition law practices in the world for the third consecutive year. Only one other Finnish firm has ever been included in this list.
The GCR 100 is an independent survey of the world’s leading competition law practices and economists. It is the only qualitative survey of the international competition marketplace. The GCR 100’s editorial remit is to identify 100 firms that merit the description “leading”.
